The Activity of The Association of Japonologists

The Association of Japonologists was created in 1994 and according to the existent regulations is a Public Organization. In the same year The Russian Association of  Japonologists  became a  member  of the  European Association of Japonologists. Starting from 2000 The Association is one of the founder of  “The Russian Committee  XXI century”.

At present Time there are 374 members of The Association goes from Moscow and regions of Russia all of whom has professional links with Japan:

scientist of  Japonology from  Academic institutions,  journalists, librarians and  museums curators, representative of the public organizations which support close contacts with Japan , teaches and  students of  Russian high schools, universities and colleges and members of  public interested in  Traditions,  History,  Economy, Politics,  Law,  Language,  Art, Literature and Culture of  Japan.

The Counsel of The Association of  Japonologists  is a leading structure of the Association . Its members are leading Japonologists of Russia, representing the following organizations:  MGIMO (The  Institute  of  International  Foreign relations), ISAA MGU, RGGU(Moscow

Russian State University for Humanities), IDV RAN (The  Institute  of Far East of Russian Academy of Science),  IVAN RAN, Institute of Europe, Diplomatic Academy, University of SPB, Society “Russia – Japan”, ets. The Controlling Organ is Control – Revision Committee. (See list below)
